“They want to change their centre-backs; Arsenal are in conversation with them over the availability of the German international Shkodran Mustafi and they would also like Everton to maintain their interest in the Tunisian, Aymen Abdennour,” Balague wrote about Valencia on Skysports.com. “They’re also keen to get Brazil’s Adelan Santos off their books.”

Abdennour has been on the books of Valencia since the summer of 2015 and has a contract with the Spanish club until June 2020, according to Transfermarkt.co.uk.

The 27-year-old centre-back played in 22 La Liga matches for Los Che last season, creating four chances in the process, according to Squawka.com.

The Tunisia international defender had a pass accuracy of 83% and a shot accuracy of 40%, and won 40 headers, six dribbles and 27 tackles, according to Squawka.com.

Valencia finished 12th in La Liga during the 2015-16 campaign and will be aiming much higher this season.
