Spanish football expert says Barcelona offer for Coutinho is imminent.

Barcelona’s interest in Liverpool attacker Philippe Coutinho is no secret and pundit Guillem Balague says it is only a matter of time before they make an offer.

The Spanish football expert took to Twitter to offer an update, claiming that Coutinho is ‘trying hard’ to secure a move to Barcelona.

He added that Barcelona’s top players have made clear they want the Brazilian, and suggests Liverpool’s stance may have softened.

If Coutinho did move for the fee suggested, he would become the second most expensive player in the world, behind only Neymar, who Barcelona sold in the summer to Paris Saint-Germain.

It is that fee which has provided Barcelona with the cash to potentially spend on Coutinho.

Liverpool resisted Barcelona’s attempts to sign Coutinho in the summer, holding firm, and they may still be resistant to cashing in mid-season.

Barcelona may be pressing, but Liverpool fans should still be hopeful they can at least hang on until the end of the season.
