Leeds United are reportedly close to sealing a deal to sign Kiko Casilla as Marcelo Bielsa looks to sign a new goalkeeper.

According to Spanish football expert Guillem Balague, Leeds are set to land Kiko Casilla from Real Madrid on a free transfer as the Whites seemingly close in on their first signing of the January window.
It was reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post shortly after Marcelo Bielsa’s side’s win against Derby County on Friday night that the club were close to completing a deal to sign Casilla, who boasts three Champions League winners’ medals on his CV.
It looks set to be an inspired move from the Championship leaders. But based on further information from Balague, it appears that it could be an even better deal than many expected.
The journalist took to Twitter to explain just how much Leeds will pay in regards to a transfer fee for the 32-year-old, before going on to praise the Whites’ recruitment team for the potentially-imminent move.

Here is Balague’s tweet…
Of course, given that he is arriving from the Bernabeu, it seems difficult to imagine that Leeds will pull off such a bargain in regards to wages.

The Yorkshire Evening Post’s initial report suggested that the Whites were looking to buy out his contract, so it would appear that Casilla will be on a lucrative deal by Championship standards.
But given his reputation and the fact that he is set to arrive for no transfer fee, it certainly does seem that this deal has every chance of proving to be a masterstroke from the league leaders.
