Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Real Madrid and former Spurs star Gareth Bale.
According to The Mirror, Manchester United, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Bale from Madrid.
It has been reported that Spanish and European giants are willing to sell the Wales international winger and have placed an asking price of £85 million.
Balague, who works for Sky Sports, has claimed that the 28-year-old former Southampton and Tottenham star does not want to leave Madrid.
“There a few things to say about this at this particular point,” wrote Balague on Skysports.com when asked if Bale will leave Madrid. “Number one, Bale doesn’t want to leave Real Madrid.
“His entourage insist that when he comes back he will impress everyone and there will be no more talk of him leaving.
“But, interestingly enough, stories concerning Real Madrid and Bale’s departure have come into the press right at the same time.
“I suspect it’s a leak from Real Madrid where they are leaving the door open to that possibility. That is where we stand at the moment on that.”
Bale is a very good winger, but the Wales international has had injury problems in recent years and has not progressed during his time at Madrid.
When he is fit and is in full form, the 28-year-old is one of the best players in the world, but for a price of £85m, it would not be worth of Tottenham to bring back the Welshman.
Moreover, Bale would not have any resale value, meaning that in the long run Spurs would actually lose money on him.
