Lloris has been linked with a summer move to the Bernabeu, however, Balague claims he is clear the Frenchman will remain at White Hart Lane.

The pundit adds Madrid will instead continue their pursuit of Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea, with Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois their second – and easiest – option.
“I understand Hugo Lloris is not on Real Madrid’s radar – it is clear to me that he will remain at Spurs,” Balague writes in his weekly La Liga column. “Thibaut Courtois is an easier option than David de Gea, who remains their number one target. Courtois is second on the wishlist and Real are confident they will get either Courtois or De Gea.

Lloris has been a key player for Tottenham since his 2012 switch from Olympique Lyonnais, and signed a new five-and-a-half-year deal with the London club shortly before Christmas.

The 30-year-old is already Spurs’ fifth longest serving player, after Danny Rose, HarryKane, Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen, and will have given almost a decade of service to the Lilywhites by the end of his current deal.
