Arsenal made a big signing in January by securing Martin Odegaard on loan from Real Madrid until the end of the season.
The Gunners wanted to find a new playmaker in the transfer window, despite Emile Smith Rowe emerging as a key man for Mikel Arteta.
In the end, they went for a loan deal in Odegaard, luring him until the summer as he desperately pursues first-team football.
The Norwegian had only played 232 minutes of league action with Real this season, despite racking up seven goals and nine assists on loan at Real Sociedad last term.
Odegaard did make his Arsenal debut on Saturday evening, coming on as a late substitute against Manchester United, but he was unused against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Wednesday night.
Arteta is understandably taking things slowly with Odegaard, bedding him in gradually after a frustrating first half of the campaign.
However, some Arsenal fans are already wondering about a permanent deal for Odegaard, hoping that the club can lure the 22-year-old to North London full-time.

Unfortunately, Spanish football expert Guillem Balague has suggested that Arsenal have ‘zero’ chance of signing him permanently, because Real need Odegaard in and around their squad.
“Zero, I think,” said Balague. “Real Madrid need to build a future based on the youngsters that they bought,” he added.
Balague went on to suggest that Zinedine Zidane was given the remit of developing young players but hasn’t done so, meaning he could go this summer – and the new boss would have to integrate Odegaard rather than sell him to Arsenal.
