The deal to bring Fredy Guarin from Inter to Juventus is still being completed, but the player’s brother is certain the transfer will take place.
It now looks very likely that Colombian international Fredy Guarin will be wearing a Juventus shirt despite protests from the Inter fans.
Guarin has become a target for a number of Europe’s top clubs, reportedly including Chelsea and Manchester United.
But Juventus seem to have beaten everyone to the punch and secured a deal involving striker Mirko Vucinic moving the other way in part exchange.
“Official: Fredy Guarin is the first Colombian player to play for Juventus,’ his post reads, according to Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport.
It seems that Inter owner Erik Thohir still has to sign off on the agreement between the two clubs, but that should be a mere formality.
Inter fans had hoped that Thohir would turn things around for the Nerazzurri who had been stagnant in recent transfer activity but this sale is likely to antagonise the majority of fans further.
While Vucinic is a proven goal scorer, he is 30 years old and many believe he is past his best, while Guarin at 27 seems to be ever improving.
