Neither Fredy Guarin nor Mirko Vucinic have been selected this weekend after Inter and Juventus’ swap deal collapsed.
The fallout of Inter and Juventus’ aborted part exchange deal involving Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic continues as both players will spend the weekend cooling their heels.
Juventus appeared to have closed out a deal for Colombian midfielder Guarin which would have seen Vucinic arrive at Inter along with a sum of money.
But Inter controversially called the deal off as owner Erik Thohir stepped in at the last minute, possibly influenced by the outrage of many Nerazzurri fans who felt they were getting a bad deal.
The two clubs have issued hostile statements and relations are clearly strained, but the real victims are the two players involved.
“Due to a series of considerations I won’t be selecting Guarin for the squad to play Catania,” the Inter tactician stated.
“All my efforts this week have been directed at getting the team to concentrate on the game and what they need is a clear head.”
Meanwhile it was little surprise that Montenegro international Vucinic wasn’t included in Juventus’ squad to visit Lazio.
There are still rumours that Vucinic will complete his move to Inter but on a paid loan basis.
