According to 90min, Leeds are keen to bring Sergio Agüero to Elland Road when he leaves Manchester City at the end of the season.

The 97-cap Argentina international has announced his intention to leave the Etihad Stadium this summer, and Leeds now view him as a target.

90min claim Marcelo Bielsa is a big fan of the 32-year-old, who cost £38 million when Manchester City signed him from Atlético Madrid in 2011.

One man who is also – unsurprisingly – a big fan of Agüero is Pep Guardiola.

The South American forward has scored an astonishing 121 goals in 177 games under the Spaniard, while also recording 28 assists.

Speaking back in February 2020, Guardiola called the Manchester City No.10 ‘incredible’ following a Champions League game against Real Madrid.

Goal quote him as saying: “Sergio was incredible, honestly, I never could express my gratitude and my thanks to him, to understand me a little bit and to help the team, being a legend as he is for what he has done for this club.”

Regardless, you don’t need the fact that Guardiola thinks he’s incredible to know that this would be an otherworldly signing for Leeds.

To have played Championship football in 2020, only to potentially sign one of the world’s best forwards of the last decade in 2021, would be simply mind-blowing for Leeds.

On a free transfer, Leeds would probably have to pay Agüero a fair amount in wages.

However, if Bielsa can convince him to join, Leeds must move Heaven and Earth to ensure he ends up in Yorkshire.

It would be one of the biggest coups of all time, in our view.
