Is Haaland playing against Liverpool? Many have asked as the Manchester City No.9 faces a race against time to be fit.
The Norway international suffered a groin injury before the international break, which ruled him out of the UEFA EURO 2024 qualifiers against Spain and Georgia.
Now, Pep Guardiola has provided an update on Haaland ahead of Liverpool’s trip to the Etihad Stadium on Saturday afternoon…
Guardiola gives Liverpool a Haaland update
Well, Liverpool fans – as well as those who play Fantasy Football – have been desperate to know if Haaland will be available for the Citizens this weekend, given his effectiveness in front of goal.
The 22-year-old has remarkably scored 42 goals in 37 appearances for Manchester City this season.
When asked if Haaland would be ready to face Liverpool, Guardiola said: “See how he feels at training at 4pm.”
The Spaniard also confirmed that Phil Foden would be out injured for around two to three weeks.
It is a positive for Manchester City that their talisman is training, at least.
In truth, even if Haaland is unable to play, the Citizens still have plenty of firepower in attack, so Jürgen Klopp certainly won’t be relaxing if the Norwegian is missing.
World Cup winner Julian Alvarez is expected to start if Haaland cannot play – the Argentina international has already scored against Liverpool this season, netting in the FA Community Shield.

Be sure to keep an eye out for the lineup on Saturday afternoon at 11:30am GMT.
If Haaland is fit enough to start, the likes of Virgil van Dijk will be in for an even tougher afternoon.
