Speaking on the ITV Football Show, Alan McInally has claimed that Celtic’s Ryan Christie is a guaranteed starter for Scotland at the Euros.
Scotland are heading into their first major tournament in over 20 years, and Steve Clarke has a few selection headaches to think about.
Does he play a back four or a back five? How does his midfield line-up? How do you get the best out of Andy Robertson and Kieran Tierney? These are all questions Steve Clarke has to answer.
However, McInally believes is unquestionable is the fact that Christie will be a starter.

McInally was giving his view on how Scotland would line up at the tournament.
“He’ll play McGinn and McTominay. He’ll play two, not one. He’ll ask McTominay to sit in front of the back three and as McGinn to get forward as often as he can. Then Stuart Armstrong and Ryan Christie. I think Christie is a guaranteed starter, he won’t not start Armstrong either, and then for me the only one for me is Lyndon Dykes or Che Adams to start up front,” McInally said.

Is Christie a guaranteed starter for Scotland?
Well, after a season where he grabbed 10 assists for Celtic he probably should be, but it’s hard to say whether or not he will be.
Christie hasn’t started two of Scotland’s last three games, and he’s only ever started 15 times for his country in his career, so to say that he’s guaranteed to be in the XI at the Euros is a big claim.
Whether or not McInally’s claim about Christie is accurate or not remains to be seen.
