Simon Jordan told talkSPORT (18/08/21 at 10:40 am) that the transfer saga involving Harry Kane wanting to leave Tottenham for Manchester City smacks of ‘stupidity, immaturity, ignorance and arrogance’.

The ex-Crystal Palace owner also claimed that he can ‘guarantee’ that Daniel Levy wouldn’t have ‘put a figure’ on how much Kane could leave Spurs for when this so-called ‘gentleman’s agreement’ was made last summer.

What a welcome to life at Spurs for Nuno Espirito Santo because he has walked into an utter mess – but he is dealing with the situation pretty well.

Nonetheless, talkSPORT pundit Jordan spoke about knowing Levy as an individual and what he would have told Kane about leaving Spurs last summer.

“This whole debacle, including the statement,” said Jordan. “It smacks of stupidity, immaturity, ignorance and arrogance by Harry Kane and his representation.

“I will guarantee you, that in between the lines here there is substance. Yes, there is an in-principle agreement between Harry Kane and Daniel Levy that ‘we are prepared to sell you if certain things don’t manifest themselves’.

“I would bet my bottom dollar that there wasn’t a figure put on it. I would bet my bottom dollar that Levy didn’t say to Kane ‘if we get £125 million then you can go’.

“I would guarantee that Daniel Levy said ‘we want to extract maximum value to get the best deal for Tottenham. But if that comes to pass then we will sell you’. What that then translates to is the stupidity and immaturity of the representation saying ‘alright that will do for us, off we go’.”

This is a big week in this transfer saga involving Kane, Tottenham, Charlie Kane, Levy, Manchester City and anybody else who is involved.

If the England captain doesn’t feature or is in the squad against Wolves at the weekend then that will really speak volumes.

Kane only had one training session in the build-up to the Man City game on Sunday, so from a fitness and sharpness perspective, it was understandable why he wasn’t involved.

But perhaps the question that should be asked is why he arrived late for training in the first place, although there is probably an obvious answer to that one.
