The Liverpool ace fired shots back at the Real Madrid star yesterday.

Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah responded to Sergio Ramos’s latest comments regarding the injury he sustained during the Champions League final last week, and fans took to Twitter to mock the Reds ace for what they perceive to be delusional comments.

The Liverpool man was forced off after just 31 minutes against Madrid, following a clash with Ramos, and he is now in a race against time to be fit for Egypt’s World Cup campaign.

Ramos spoke to the press last week, and claimed that he did nothing wrong in the build up to the Reds star’s injury, as quoted by the Express:

Sergio Ramos of Real Madrid celebrates with Rafael Varane after scoring his teamÕs third goal from the penalty spot during the La Liga match between Leganes and Real Madrid at Estadio...

“Bloody hell, they’ve given this a lot of attention, the Salah thing … I didn’t want to speak because everything is magnified. I see the play as it is. After the goalkeeper said that I dazed him with a clash with me I am only missing Firmino saying that he got a cold because a drop of my sweat!”

Salah delivered his response to the Spain international’s comments yesterday, as quoted by Sky Sports:

Mohamed Salah of Liverpool celebrates with teammates Georginio Wijnaldum and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after scoring his sides third goal during the Premier League match between AFC...

“He sent me a message, but I never told him it was ‘OK’. My comment is that it’s always OK when the one who made you cry first, then makes you laugh. Maybe he could also tell me if I’m going to be ready for the World Cup?”

In fairness to Ramos, the clash was merely a coming together, and it would be extremely harsh to blame the Spaniard for Salah’s unfortunate injury.

It is an argument that will likely continue to rumble on, however, and could come to a head if the pair meet again during the World Cup in Russia this summer.

Here are a selection of tweets from football fans up and down the country in response to Salah’s retort to Ramos, and there were not many messages of support for the Egyptian…
