Tottenham have been linked to Davinson Sanchez.

Ajax have been urged to cash in on Davinson Sanchez by the technical director of a rival Dutch club.

Groningen chief Ron Jans says Sanchez has let Ajax down by failing to focus and having to miss the club’s game against Heracles at the weekend.

Tottenham Hotspur are pushing to sign the centre-back and are hopeful a deal can be done today, Gianluca Di Marzio reports.

The Colombian would follow Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen moving from Ajax to Tottenham, with Toby Alderweireld also another player to share the two clubs.

Jans told Sport Nieuws: “I’d say, try to make 45 million [Euros] and then get rid of him quick.

“You never let your team down like that, maybe I’m naive.”

He went on to point out Groningen have their own players who have been subject of transfer interest this summer, but are ‘good trainers’.

Davinson Sanchez of Colombia looks on during a friendly match between Spain and Colombia at La Nueva Condomina stadium on June 7, 2017 in Murcia, Spain.

Ajax had insisted on Monday that Sanchez was not for sale having only signed a new contract last year.

Sanchez is a player coveted by clubs across Europe but Tottenham are the ones showing greatest interest in his signature.

The fee speculated of 45 million Euros equates to £40 million, which would break Tottenham’s record transfer by £10 million.

Sanchez, 21, is a talented defender who could be worth it, but it appears he could be leaving Ajax on poor terms.
