Ernest Faber has suggested that Everton would be a good move for Memphis Depay.
Groningen manager Ernest Faber has told Voetbal International that he thinks Everton would be a good move for Manchester United winger Memphis Depay.
Depay, 22, has become something of a misfit at Old Trafford just over a year since leaving PSV for United, with his big money coming off the back of a stunning 28-goal season for the Dutch giants.

Depay may have played in 29 Premier League games under Louis van Gaal last season, but he was only able to notch two goals and no assists, meaning his first season at the club was something of a disappointment – and this term hasn’t gone much better.
The winger has played just 20 minutes of Premier League action this season, and doesn’t appear to be in the plans of manager Jose Mourinho, meaning many believe Depay could move on in January.
Manchester United’s Memphis Depay celebrates
Everton boss Ronald Koeman recently told FOX Sports NL that he would like to work with Depay, but The Mirror reported earlier today that United boss Mourinho is reluctant to let Depay move to a direct rival.
A move to Everton would give Depay the chance to play first-team football and work under a manager who knows him in Koeman – and one of Depay’s former coaches has had his say on the situation.
Groningen boss Ernest Faber, who worked as PSV Eindhoven’s assistant manager during Depay’s time at the club, has told Voetbal International that he thinks Depay is ‘too talented to sit on the bench’ at United.

Faber added that Everton would be a good move for Depay given that Ronald and Erwin Koeman know the winger well, and thinks that could be a ‘big advantage’ for all concerned.
“The transfer to Manchester United, he earned all through hard work himself, but he is now at an age when he should play more,” said Faber. “His talent is never lost, but you have to play football to continue to develop. Memphis is too talented to sit on the bench. Everton has, with Ronald and Erwin Koeman, trainers who know him from the Dutch league, they know how he is. That can be a big advantage,” he added.
