Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths is back in action after an extended break from football.

Celtic striker Leigh Griffiths has told The Scottish Sun that he was worried the club would offload him this summer.
Bhoys ace Griffiths stepped away from football in December 2018, in order to deal with personal issues outside of the game.
Griffiths final appearance of last season came on December 8th, but he did return to training last term as he ramped up his attempts to return.
This summer, the Scot has been back in action for new boss Neil Lennon, and he played in last week’s Champions League qualifier against FK Sarajevo.
The 28-year-old will look to make up for lost time this season, and it’s great to see him back after dealing with those off-field matters.
Now, Griffiths has opened up on his return, and admitted that he was worried that Celtic would offload him and cut ties once he dealt with his problems.
Griffiths noted that he has spoken to both Neil Lennon and Peter Lawwell, and they want him to not only stay at Celtic and get back to his best, but also live a happy life after his playing days are over.

That’s a great stance from Celtic, aiming to look after Griffiths both now and for the future, and it’s clearly greatly appreciated by the striker.
“It would have been easy for the club to cut ties altogether and say ‘Look, we’ll give you time off but in the summer it’s best if we go our separate ways’. It was a worry for me. I’m not going to lie,” said Griffiths. “But, fair play to them, they told me to take the time off and to come back and start again. That’s what I’m trying to do.
“The manager came to me and said that it’s a clean slate this season and to show everyone what I’m all about and to get back to my best. That shows what this club is all about. It’s not just about looking out for itself. It’s about looking out for the players. They don’t want me to just play for Celtic. They want me to be okay after I finish my football career. That’s speaking to Peter Lawwell, that’s speaking to Neil Lennon, to a lot of people at the club. I could be here for ages talking about names. These guys want me at the club because they know what I can do. They know I can be a big success and, most importantly, that I can score goals,” he added.
