The Hoops got the better of Rangers 2-0 away from home at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.

The match was goalless at half time, but goals from Tom Rogic and Griffiths in the second period saw Rodgers’s side pick up all three points from the encounter.

Griffiths has revealed what Rodgers told the Celtic players at half time, and told The Scottish Sun: “Our final ball in the first half wasn’t great. We could have looked up a bit more.

“If the ball had been squared across to the back post there were boys waiting for tap-ins.

“But the gaffer told us at half-time that the chances would come if we stayed calm and 2-0 is a good victory for us.

“It’s always a difficult scoreline at 1-0 — 2-0 settled us down a bit and knocked the stuffing out of them.”

Celtic were the better side over the course of the 90 minutes and deservedly picked up the three points.

The defending Scottish Premiership champions could have done better in the first half, but there is no doubt that they stepped up their game after the half-time interval.

The Old Firm derby on Saturday afternoon underlined the difference in gulf between Celtic and Rangers.

Given the quality of players that the Hoops have and their current run, it is hard to see them not win the Scottish Premiership title this season.
