West Ham United have been linked with the Lyon midfielder.

It has been clear for some time that West Ham United’s midfield is in need of improvement, and it appears that the club have identified Lyon’s Clement Grenier as a possible solution to the problem.
Grenier, who has fallen way down the pecking order at Lyon, is out of contract at the end of the season and West Ham are interested in signing him this month, as reported by The Sun.
The 27-year-old is capable of playing as a central midfielder or an attacking midfielder and possesses the quality to make West Ham a much more effective unit.

Superb at retaining possession and a fine dribbler, Grenier would be an excellent choice to replace Mark Noble in the West Ham midfield, with the latter having shown some signs of decline this season.
Given his situation at Lyon, it seems possible that West Ham could finalise a move for Grenier, who had a loan spell at Roma last season.

The former France international has previously produced some excellent performances for Lyon, but he has ultimately been unable to fulfil the vast potential that he demonstrated as a youngster.
Grenier is still capable of stepping up elsewhere, though, and West Ham could give him the ideal platform to succeed.
