Rangers appear to be closing in on forward Greg Stewart.

Aberdeen missed out on Europa League qualification this afternoon despite beating Hibernian, as Kilmarnock beat Rangers 2-1 to take third place.
Aberdeen’s own 2-1 win ended up being in vain as Killie’s late penalty saw them in on goal difference, leaving Derek McInnes and co disappointed at a fourth-place finish.
One Dons player appears to be making a move up the table though, as forward Greg Stewart was notably left out of the Aberdeen side this afternoon, not even receiving a place on the bench.
The 29-year-old is a free agent after Birmingham confirmed they’re releasing him, but there was no final day appearance for Stewart as he gears up for a move elsewhere.
Sky Sports claim that Stewart’s move to Rangers is now done, with a three-year deal signed and sealed, leaving confirmation to come within days.
Rangers have been linked with Stewart for weeks now, offering him a return to his boyhood club having started his career with the Gers as a kid.

Stewart will offer a versatile attacking option to Steven Gerrard, as he’s able to play out wide, up front or as a creative playmaker, and whilst his arrival is by no means flashy, it’s another squad option for the Gers.
With just two goals in 20 for Aberdeen, Stewart’s arrival won’t go down well with some, and Gerrard will be desperate to get him back to his Kilmarnock form, where he scored eight times in 16 games earlier this term.
