Greg Halford has taken to Twitter to send a message to Newcastle United-owned West Bromwich Albion striker Dwight Gayle following his goal against Leeds United.
Gayle, who joined West Brom on loan from Premier League club Newcastle in the summer transfer window, scored against Leeds in the Championship match at The Hawthorns on Saturday evening.
The 29-year-old striker found the net in the 83rd minute, just three minutes after coming on as a substitute for Hal Robson-Kanu.
The former Crystal Palace star scored with a stunning backheel, leaving 33-year-old former Nottingham Forest and Cardiff City defender Halford stunned.
Gayle has been a superb signing for West Brom and has been banging in the goals for fun for Darren Moore’s side.
The 29-year-old Newcastle-owned scored nine goals and provided one assist in 12 Championship starts for the Baggies so far this season, according to WhoScored.
The win against Leeds means that West Brom are now fifth in the Championship table with 28 points from 17 matches, five points behind leaders Norwich City.
