Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers brought Greg Docherty back, and Steven Gerrard seems to be taking a close look at the 22-year-old.

Docherty was sent out on loan by Rangers last term, and he impressed at Shrewsbury Town in League One.
Gerrard now seems to be taking a closer look at the central midfielder, and he impressed during Rangers’ pre-season friendly against Oxford United yesterday.
Rangers ran out 5-0 winners on Sunday afternoon at Ibrox, with Docherty showing his worth to the side.
And Docherty feels that the difficult of Rangers’ pre-season is standing them in good stead.
“We feel ready for the game. Pre-season has been really difficult – harder than last year, which I didn’t think was possible,” he said.
“We’ve really dug in and mentally it’s tough at times but you do feel stronger for it.

“We’re definitely a fit bunch in the changing room so it’s just about getting the match sharpness. It is going to be a long hard season and standards must be high every day.”
It remains to be seen whether Docherty will be able to force his way into Gerrard’s plans, as competition for places in Rangers’ midfield is vast.
The 22-year-old does seem to have plenty of promise though, and Gerrard has made a smart decision by taking a closer look at the Rangers midfielder.
