Greg Docherty is thriving away from Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers.

Rangers might be cursing their decision to sell Josh Windass last summer.
Fans of the Ibrox club might not want to admit it, but Rangers have missed the English playmaker this season.
Ovie Ejaria, who joined the Gers on loan from Liverpool, hasn’t really done it. With one goal and one assist, he isn’t doing enough.
One man who might be doing enough is Greg Docherty, who was allowed to join Shrewsbury Town on a season-long loan when Steven Gerrard took over.
The 22-year-old played as a defensive midfielder role last term, but he is thriving in an advanced role this season and Gerrard needs to see his latest comments.
Speaking to The Sunday Post at the weekend, Docherty said: “At Rangers last season I was being asked to play in a more-defensive midfield role to allow the others to move forward into the final third of the pitch.
“Here, I have been given much more freedom to express myself and go forward with the ball to try things.
“My game, in my view, is better suited to a more-offensive style. I’m thoroughly enjoying the roving role and the system we play.

It’s certainly food for thought for Gerrard. Could Docherty – who has six goals for the League One side this season – actually be closest thing to Windass that Rangers have?
Like Docherty, Windass was brilliant in that number 10 role last season and netted 18 goals across all competitions.
If the former Hamilton star returns to Ibrox then next summer then Gerrard simply must give him chances in the old Windass role. Anywhere else and he is wasted, going by his goals down South.
