Glasgow Rangers have reportedly had Glen Kamara on their radar in recent months, but surely Greg Docherty deserves another chance at Ibrox first.

The Mail’s report does not make it clear whether Steven Gerrard remains interested in Kamara heading into January, but it would arguably be a surprise if he was not someone that the Gers considered targeting if the 22-year-old enjoys an excellent run of form until the window opens.
Kamara’s future availability must make him an appealing target for various clubs. The Mail reports that the Gers have been joined by the likes of Celtic, Wolves, Burnley and Derby in having a look at the Finland international recently.
But Gerrard would arguably be making a mistake if he pursued a move for Kamara without handing Greg Docherty another chance to prove that he is ready for Rangers’ first-team.

Docherty was hardly poor following his arrival in January, but it seemed to make a lot of sense to loan him out with the Gers strengthening their midfield options significantly over the summer.
And Docherty appears to be making the most of his time out on loan with Shrewsbury. He has been extremely impressive, and is doing an excellent job of showing to Gerrard that he deserves another chance.
Unfortunately for Docherty, if Kamara is a Rangers target, it would appear that a question mark could linger over his Ibrox future, especially with the two midfielders the same age.

Kamara is proving to be a very good player in the Scottish Premiership, and given that he could be available for free next summer, it would appear to be a decent piece of business if a deal was done.
But Rangers arguably do not need need the former Arsenal man with Docherty clearly raring to regain his place in the Gers midfield upon his return from his loan spell.
