Leeds United overcame lower league opposition earlier this week.
Leeds United got their first competitive win since Garry Monk took charge when they faced Fleetwood Town on Wednesday evening but it was a hard fought victory.
The two sides clashed in the first round of the League Cup and a late goal from summer signing Marcus Antonsson took the game into extra-time after the League One side had led since the 13th minute.
Chris Wood put Leeds ahead before a late goal from Ashley Hunter took the match to penalties.
Leeds ultimately held their nerve, winning 5-4 after Rob Green kept out Eggert Jonsson’s effort, and the new stopper took to Twitter to celebrate after the match saying it was about time he saved a penalty.
Fellow summer signings Kemar Roofe and Hadi Sacko also had their say along with Leeds’ latest breakout star Ronaldo Vieira.
The 18-year-old has started Monk’s first two competitive matches in charge and he could be the player to step into the shoes of the recently departed Lewis Cook.
