Leeds United face a tough challenge to sign Aleksandar Prijovic, according to Gazzetta Greece.
The Serbian international striker is reportedly on Leeds’ radar, with Goal Cyprus reporting Thomas Christiansen is keen on the 28-year-old.
Prijovic has struck 10 goals this season, and has a 10 million Euros (£8.8m) release clause in his contract.
This would require Leeds spending more money on a single player than they have done in more than a decade, and be a true statement of intent from owner Andrea Radrizzani.
Leeds are likely dependent on PAOK being willing to sell Prijovic for a cut price fee, but Gazzetta Greece report this is very unlikely to happen.
Their report states PAOK are not even thinking of negotiating to sell Prijovic, and they are confident of keeping him.
The striker has netted 20 goals for the club since signing in 2016 and is a real fan favourite in Greece.
Leeds could get their man if they pay up, and it is unclear how much their transfer budget is next month, although they did recoup a big fee from selling Chris Wood in the summer, which has largely remained unspent.
