Speaking on BT Sport’s coverage of the Champions League Round of 16 draw, Joe Cole has been discussing Liverpool and Thiago Alcantara.
The midfielder has been in excellent form as of later. Especially in the Champions League. He famously netted a brilliant volley against Porto and he’s generally looked a class above every time he’s stepped onto the pitch lately.
It’s not all that surprising to see that Thiago has been excellent this season. After all, he’s been one of the best midfielders in the world for the best part of a decade, but, it has to be said, his first campaign at Liverpool wasn’t his best.
However, Cole now believes that he’s back playing his best stuff.
What’s been said about Thiago?
Cole claimed that the midfielder is now playing his best football again.
“It’s great to see Thiago back to his best like we saw him at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and they have speed, they have aggression, they can mix it and they’re one of the best teams we’ve seen for the past 15 years. Jurgen Klopp will want to add to his trophy tally,” Cole said

Could be key
Cole says that Klopp will be desperate to add to his impressive tally of trophies, and if Thiago keeps playing like this, Liverpool could well pick up a few pieces of silverware this season.
Indeed, the Spaniard’s recent showings have been nothing short of exceptional, and Liverpool genuinely look unbeatable at the moment.
Of course, it’s a long season and Thiago has had his injury problems in the past, but if he can stay fit and in form, there’s no reason why Liverpool can’t challenge for and win the top honours once again.
