Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Callum Wilson has been chatting about Bruno Guimaraes after he was signed by the Magpies.

The Brazilian was the Tyneside club’s marquee signing of the transfer window. He joined the club for over £40m from Lyon and expectations are high.

Wilson says that he actually hasn’t heard much about the player, but he says he really can’t wait to start training alongside him.

What’s Wilson said about Guimaraes?

Wilson spoke about the midfielder.

“It was a strange one because one minute the doctor is there at the club and the next minute he’s gone off to do a medical. I’ve not heard much about Bruno but I’m sure he’s a great talent and he’s only going to add quality to our squad. I’m looking forward to seeing him play and seeing him train and welcoming in the other new guys as well,” Wilson said.

Exciting

Guimaraes should now be one of the first names on the Newcastle teamsheet, and we’re sure that every player is excited to play alongside the Brazilian.

Wilson has a lot to gain from a new midfielder coming into the squad. Guimaraes’ passing is one of his strongest attributes, and if he can continuously play Wilson in behind, his goal tally could skyrocket.

Of course, it remains to be seen whether or not the Brazilian can adjust to the Premier League, but if he does, he could play a key role in keeping Newcastle up.
