Gary Lineker has taken to Twitter to react after archived footage of Jesse Marsch emerged on Twitter.
What’s the story?
Well, the BBC Match of the Day host was delighted to see an old video of the £80,000-a-week Leeds man doing something which has now died out.
In the footage, Marsch could be seen preparing himself to take the decisive penalty for Chicago Fire in their Major League Soccer Play-Off against the Colorado Rapids.
However, it’s not what you’d expect to see…
As you can see above, when Marsch was playing in the United States, penalty shootouts were a little bit different.
Back then, players had to dribble towards the goalkeeper in a one-on-one situation, before attempting to find the back of the net.
In our view, it was far more entertaining than the traditional penalty shootouts we see today, although unfortunately, there aren’t any plans to bring that method back.
Leeds can learn a lot from Jesse Marsch

Whether it’s playing in old-school MLS penalty shootouts, or going head-to-head with Jürgen Klopp while managing RB Salzburg, Marsch is a man of great experience.
At the age of 48, the American has managed in the United States, Austria, Germany and England, winning a number of honours as both a player and also a tactician.

He boasts quite an impressive CV, and the Leeds players will surely learn a lot from a man who is very well travelled in football.
Having been blessed with the knowledge of Marcelo Bielsa beforehand, the Leeds squad can count themselves very lucky to have worked under two brilliant footballing brains.
