Ian Wright praised Gabriel Jesus for showcasing his ‘great skills’ and being a ‘problem for anyone’ as Arsenal secured a valuable 4-1 win over Leeds United in the Premier League on Saturday.

Mikel Arteta’s side maintained their eight-point lead at the top of the Premier League table, thanks to a brace from the returning Gabriel Jesus, despite Manchester City winning by the same scoreline (4-1) during their lunchtime kick-off against Liverpool.

Ever since Manchester City took three points off their title rivals, only one letter has sat next to Arsenal’s name since – W.

That’s seven wins on the bounce for the Gunners, as they constantly send out the message that they aren’t going anywhere in their quest to secure title glory.

Not only are Arsenal flying high, but key figures, such as Gabriel Jesus, are back on the pitch and getting back to work – Alan Shearer was left impressed by the 25-year-old yesterday.

The returning £45 million striker (Sky Sports), who made his first start in the Premier League since getting injured at the World Cup, won and converted the opening penalty, which delighted Ian Wright, as he told Premier League Productions (01/04/23 at 5:10 pm).

“Jesus, getting in this kind of area (leading up to penalty), he is going to be a problem for anyone,” said Wright.

“It’s great skills, in the end, the contact, it might be a little bit soft for some people, but it’s enough, in this day and age, to get a penalty. He got the penalty and Arsenal settled down, after that.”

ARSENAL CONTINUE TO ROAR ON

Those in Manchester must be wondering when Arsenal are going to drop because the signals they are sending out suggest that the Premier League title is returning to north London for the first time in nearly two decades.

By the end of April, Arsenal fans might just know the definitive answer to whether or not they are champions.

From trips to Anfield and the Etihad to facing off against Graham Potter’s underperforming Chelsea, win all of those games and then supporters can start to party.
