Jose Enrique has backed Liverpool to sign Donyell Malen and claimed he would be a ‘great signing’ for the club, as he posted on Instagram.

The 22-year-old PSV superstar was a bright spark for the Netherlands at Euro 2020, even though the all-action Dutch side had to bow out of the last-16 stages.

The dancing and quick-thinking feet of Malen might land him on the doorsteps of Liverpool because they are interested in him, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Jurgen Klopp loves a forward with bullet-train like pace and cat-like instincts in the final third, as Enrique backed the idea of the PSV man swapping Eindhoven for Merseyside.

This is what he posted in the comments section of Liverpool Goals Instagram page:

“I believe he will be a great signing,” said Enrique. “I see him play and he is very fast, strong, can score goals and can give assists, so why not?

“It will be a good signing I believe.”

After rampaging his way through Arsenal’s ranks, which didn’t result in him earning first-team minutes, Malen took the bold option of moving back to his homeland in 2017.

And it’s a call that has worked wonders because now some of Europe’s big boys are knocking for his goalscoring talents.

Malen netted 19 goals in the Eredivisie last season, including five goals in eight Europa League games (transfermarkt).

From Arsenal’s perspective, it will probably feel like a sense of Déjà vu again after what happened with Serge Gnabry.

The only difference here is that whilst Gnabry rips it up in Germany if Malen does return to the Premier League then it will be like rubbing it in the faces of the North Londoners.
