Millwall have signed Alex Pearce from Derby County.

Fans from both Millwall and Derby County have taken to Twitter to comment on confirmation of defender Alex Pearce signing a permanent deal with the Lions following a successful loan spell at The Den.
The official Millwall website has announced that Pearce will be joining the club once his contract at Derby expires at the end of June, although it hasn’t been mentioned how long his deal is for.
Pearce joined the Lions on loan until the end of the season in January. He has established himself as a first-team regular towards the end of the campaign, partnering Jake Cooper in the heart of the defence.
Millwall supporters have taken to Twitter to share their delight at signing him, while Derby fans have wished him luck as they feel he has been a solid professional during his time at Pride Park.
Pearce originally joined Derby from Reading in 2015. However, he struggled for game-time with the Rams, only becoming a regular during Steve McClaren’s second tenure at the club in 2016-17.
The 30-year-old then featured sporadically under Gary Rowett last season, before falling out of favour altogether under current Derby boss Frank Lampard with Fikayo Tomori and Richard Keogh regular first-teamers.

Pearce has Premier League and international experience. If Millwall are potentially going to be in another relegation scrap next season, then they’ve signed exactly the sort of player to handle the pressure.
As for Derby, with Pearce leaving, Efe Ambrose out of contract and Tomori’s loan set to end after the season, manager Frank Lampard will have a job on his hands reinforcing the defence.
