Jose Mourinho told his pre-match press conference that Dominic Calvert-Lewin is ‘improving a lot’ at Everton.

The Tottenham manager, who will locks horns with Carlo Ancelotti in the FA Cup tonight, also hailed Allan and James Rodriguez as players with ‘great quality’.

Both Spurs and Everton are desperate to add a trophy to their cabinet this season, and the FA Cup is the Merseysiders final route, with those in North London in the League Cup final.

Ahead of tonight’s game, Mourinho hailed Ancelotti as a manager and made it clear that with ‘time’ he will win in the long-term.

“You can see the players that they got,” said Mourinho. “They didn’t go in the direction of some players to progress.

“They went in the direction of players that Carlo knows very, very well. Players with great quality and experience at the highest level.

“When you go as an example to Allan and James, you are speaking about two great players who played for Carlo before.

“Developing some other players. They have other players, of course, they are improving a lot, just to give the example of Calvert-Lewin. But I could give more. And Carlo with time, he will win.”

Two of England’s top marksman – Harry Kane & Calvert-Lewin – will take to the field tonight.

Both have 13 Premier League goals to their name this season, and whilst Kane is a shoo-in for the delayed Euros in the summer, Calvert-Lewin will be hoping to join him.

A number of advantages Everton’s £1.5 million man (Liverpool Echo) holds is the number of goals he’s scoring and the fact that he has already been part of the England set-up and has opened his account for his country.
