Yaya Toure has shared that he is a ‘big fan’ of Liverpool duo Mo Salah and Sadio Mane, as well as Bayern Munich’s Leroy Sane and Manchester City’s, Riyad Mahrez, as he told the FIFA World Cup’s Instagram story.
The Premier League legend labelled both Salah and Mane as ‘great’ for Liverpool and players with ‘great ability’.
Both Salah and Mane are currently on Africa Cup of Nations duty, where both Egypt and Senegal have progressed through to the last-16 stage.
Liverpool fans won’t be seeing their star men return anytime soon, nor will they see Naby Keita because his Guinea side are also doing wonders and they have also progressed.
But regarding Salah and Mane, their fellow African counterpart, Toure, spoke highly of the pair.
“Sadio Mane and Salah have been great,” said Toure. “Mahrez has been great as well.
“I am a big fan of Leroy Sane. Great players, with great ability. Sadio Mane as well and Salah. I know plenty of them.”
Heading into the Africa Cup of Nations, both Senegal and Egypt were the favourites and it would be a surprise if neither team makes the final.
For Liverpool fans, it would be great viewing seeing Salah on one side, with his teammate trying to showcase his talent on the other.
Prior to Salah and Mane departing for AFCON duty, they scored for the Reds during their 2-2 draw against Chelsea.
And since then, they have progressed in the FA Cup, they have the second leg of their League Cup semi-final against Arsenal to come tonight, not forgetting, they also breezed past Brentford at the weekend.
