Leeds fans have taken to Twitter to react after Phil Hay relayed some ‘great news’ from TVP Sport about Mateusz Klich.

The Athletic’s Leeds correspondent tweeted that the 30-year-old has now tested negative for COVID-19.

Strangely, Klich’s negative test came just hours after the Polish Football Association revealed the Leeds No.43 had tested positive.

As a result, the Polish FA confirmed that he would not travel with Poland for their World Cup qualifier against Hungary.

Now, however, there’s no reason for Klich not to travel with his fellow Poles for the significant clash.

TVP Sport, nor Hay, specify if the Leeds maestro will now be taking part in Poland’s clash with Hungary.

However, he was spotted alongside Southampton’s Jan Bednarek in Poland training today, so it appears he has flown out there after all.

In our view, it would’ve been beneficial for Klich to have a rest during this international break.

He puts in a lot of hard yards for Marcelo Bielsa, and has started 25 of the club’s 29 Premier League games this season.

With no proper pre-season under his belt too due to COVID-19, Klich’s body is probably in need of a proper rest.

In our view, it’s also a bit risky of the Polish FA to call him up. After all, having a positive test, only to have a negative one just hours later, is a bit strange.

There’s every chance the £7,750-a-week man is still positive, and there was an error with the second test – who knows?

Let’s see how the Leeds fans on Twitter reacted to Hay’s tweet…
