There’s been some positive Liverpool team news ahead of welcoming Newcastle United to Anfield tonight.
The Reds host Eddie Howe’s side on the back of a 9-0 drubbing of Bournemouth last Saturday – their first Premier League victory of the campaign.
One of the stars of that performance for Liverpool was 19-year-old Harvey Elliott, who also got on the scoresheet with a stunning left-footed effort from outside the penalty area.
However, the former Fulham prospect had been considered a slight doubt to face Newcastle tonight.
But Neil Jones of Goal.com has reported that actually, the player is completely fit and has been training at Kirkby in the lead-up to the encounter.
And here’s how Jose Enrique reacted to that development:

If this is true, Enrique is right in saying that it’s definitely brilliant news.
Remember, Elliott only played against the Cherries because Jurgen Klopp has quite a lot of problems regarding midfield options.
Naby Keita, Thiago, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Curtis Jones are all sidelined with injury at the moment, meaning that another one in the form of the teenager would’ve been devastating.
Liverpool are already down to the bare bones, with 17-year-old Stefan Bajcetic earning a Premier League debut this past weekend in what illustrates Klopp’s lack of options right now.
The Reds will be hoping that the Bournemouth win can be the beginning of a winning streak, and that prospect is definitely enhanced if Elliott is avaliable.
