BBC MOTD pundit Ian Wright has said that the imminent appointment of Mauricio Pochettino is great news for Chelsea.
The Arsenal legend has said on Match of the Day on BBC One (May 13, 2023) that Chelsea about to hire former Tottenham Hotspur boss Pochettino is good for the Blues.
Wright has said that it is a big opportunity for the Argentine manager to win major trophies.
The Guardian reported late last night that Pochettino has agreed to become the new Chelsea head coach.
The former Paris Saint-Germain will take charge of Chelsea from the summer of 2023.
Frank Lampard will remain the interim manager of Chelsea for the rest of the season.

Wright said: “Wow! Great news for Chelsea.
“Hopefully Poch will get the control in respects of the transfers and what’s going on because I think this is a massive opportunity for Pochettino to build a project where he can win something because he has got players there who are waiting.”

In our view, Mauricio Pochettino would be a very good and exciting managerial appointment for Chelsea.
Pochettino did a brilliant job at Tottenham Hotspur with a limited budget.
As we saw with the likes of Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, Pochettino improved players.
Spurs reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in 2019 under the Argentine.
Chelsea have a very good bunch of players, and we believe that Pochettino would be able to get the best out of them and mould them into a tea.
