Ale Moreno has claimed that it would be ‘great news for Arsenal’ if Lucas Paqueta can link up with Gabriel Jesus on the domestic stage, as he told ESPN.
The TV pundit added that Paqueta is a player who you have to ‘watch a few times to really appreciate all the things he does’.
The Lyon midfielder is on the transfer radar of Premier League clubs, including Arsenal, with a £50 million tag seemingly slapped on his head.
Mikel Arteta has already added to his midfield this summer following the arrival of Fabio Vieira from Porto, with the left-footer more in the mould of Martin Odegaard.
Someone like Paqueta is more well-rounded and he would have the ability to play alongside another attack-minded player such as Odegaard, as Moreno shared his thoughts on the player and those Arsenal links.
“I do like him,” said Moreno. “But I think he is a player you have to watch a few times to really appreciate all the things he does.
“His ability to work between the lines. He does that very well. But he has to have the freedom in order to do that and that flexibility is something that would suit a player like Lucas Paqueta.
“To the point of Gabriel Jesus, they have a very good connection when they play with Brazil together. Lucas Paqueta plays on the inside and usually, Gabriel Jesus plays on the outside.
“They have a very good understanding and they seem to connect very well with Brazil, could they do that with Arsenal? Well, that would be great news for Arsenal as well.”

There is a Brazilian theme building up in north London, with Marquinhos and Jesus the latest South American stars to arrive this summer.
If the Gunners put down the money for someone like Paqueta, then he could argue that he walks straight into the club’s midfield.
When Arsenal suffered injuries or suspensions last season, the void left behind by the first-team stars was pretty obvious and it did cost the team on a number of occasions.
Paying the big fee as they have done for Vieira and now possibly Paqueta will certainly further enhance the squad Arteta has at his disposal and put further pressure on his shoulders heading into next season.
If he fails to secure Champions League football next season, then it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the exit door opened for him by those in the boardroom.
