Clinton Morrison has told Good Morning Transfers on Sky Sports (01/02/21 at 8:05 am) that Arsenal defender Ainsley Maitland-Niles should join Leicester City.
Game time has been difficult for Maitland-Niles this season and the versatile Arsenal player was an unused substitute during his side’s goalless draw against Manchester United on Saturday.
The writing has seemingly been on the wall for him to leave, as Sky Sports have reported that Leicester, Southampton and West Brom are keen to snap up the £35k-a-week player before the 11 pm deadline.
Former Crystal Palace hitman Morrison shared that he would like Maitland-Niles to move and earn the minutes that he needs.
“I heard you look talking about Maitland Niles,” said Morrison. “I think he’s a player who I would like to see go and play football.
“If Leicester are interested, as you have just said, I think it would be a great move.”

The Euros in the summer are beckoning and there will be some players, like Maitland-Niles, who will be keen to be on that plane, but they need the minutes to do so.
Perhaps the writing is on the wall for Arteta because Southampton and Leicester – two of the outstanding teams this season and coached by two highly-rated individuals – are keen to sign him.
That should show Arteta that Maitland Niles does have some serious quality in his boots and he should earn more minutes in North London rather than two teams, who may end up finishing above them this season.
