Jody Morris has backed Lewis Hall to secure a transfer from Chelsea to Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United.
The former Chelsea coach thinks Lewis Hall would get ‘more minutes’ at St James’ Park in comparison to how much he would play under Mauricio Pochettino at Stamford Bridge.
Added to that, Morris also feels that the 18-year-old would thrive under the ‘top-class’ Newcastle United manager, as he told The Transfer Show on Sky Sports (16/08/23 at 7:50 pm).
It’s interesting that Newcastle are pushing for someone like Hall given his lack of experience and the fact that he hasn’t been able to break into Chelsea’s first team yet.
That’s why there have been previous links to Arsenal’s Kieran Tierney, but it seems as though that move won’t happen, as of this moment in time.
Nonetheless, Jody Morris shared his thoughts on Hall, as he backed the youngster to make the jump up to the Champions League side.

“I think if there is a chance of him to go and work with Eddie Howe, a top-class manager and coach, and seeing what Newcastle are doing, at the minute,” said Morris.
“If he has the chance to go and get more game time there, more than he would be getting at Chelsea, which if you look at it on paper, it’s probably the case, then I think it would be a great move for Newcastle, Chelsea and Lewis himself.
“Not just somebody who can play at left-back. I think he is more than capable of going in midfield and filling in there. That might be something Eddie might be wanting from his fullbacks as well.
“I think it’s a good move for everybody if that’s the case.”

Top move for Hall
There are a host of names entering the building at Chelsea, with hundreds and hundreds of millions being spent, so it’s doubtful that Pochettino is going to be looking at Youth.
That’s why a move to Newcastle, where Hall would be playing Champions League football, would be a great move for the versatile player.
Plus, he would be under the stewardship of a manager that has improved the game of many, many players since he was appointed Newcastle boss.
