‘Great move’: Chelsea fans react to Everton manager rumour

Chelsea fans have reacted on Twitter to the possibility that Everton could push for Frank Lampard as their manager.

The Telegraph claim that Everton are to interview Lampard and Wayne Rooney for their manager role after sacking Rafa Benitez on Sunday.

It has been a year since Chelsea sacked Lampard as their manager and he hasn’t been in a job since then.

There are sections of Chelsea supporters who would like to see him get his managerial engine going again and possibly take the Toffees job.

Since retiring from his trophy-laden career, Lampard has stepped in the Derby and Chelsea dugouts.

At Pride Park, he guided the East Midlands side to the Championship play-off final, before they were beaten by Aston Villa.

And after only one season, he was handed the keys to Chelsea, where he helped a transfer-ban-hit and young Blues side to Champions League football.

But when the former midfielder started spending money, that’s when it went wrong for the Englishman.

Some felt that Lampard’s sacking was harsh, but either way, he is far wiser and more experienced now if he were to take the Everton job.

`It will be interesting to see if those in the Goodison Park boardroom push for Lampard because a certain Steven Gerrard has started off in a positive fashion at Aston Villa.
