Jose Mourinho has praised Everton’s Jordan Pickford live on Sky Sports, after yesterday’s match against Tottenham Hotspur.
Everton ran out 1-0 winners over Tottenham, with Pickford putting in a commanding performance.
The England stopper made one brilliant save from Matt Doherty in the first-half and he also was quick off his line, as he took a lot of pressure off his defence.
And even Mourinho found time to praise the Everton keeper after the game.
“Disappointed with the performance, but in the first half – apart from the mistake we made with Richarlison facing Hugo – we had the best chances,” he said.
“A couple of important saves by Pickford. But in the second half when they scored the goal, after that we were not able to create.
“The chance of Doherty was a big one. But Pickford was there. He also made a great save on Dele Alli’s shot.”

Despite Mourinho’s praise, Tottenham surely would have been hoping to test Pickford out more yesterday.
The Everton goalkeeper had a relatively comfortable afternoon’s work, as Spurs lacked the attacking threat to cause the Toffees’ defence too many problems.
Pickford will need a few more performance of this quality to completely win back the faith of the Goodison Park crowd too.
Pickford has come under fire recently, but his display yesterday will surely help boost his confidence for future weeks.
