Paul Merson has praised Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino on Sky Sports News (3:07pm, November 12, 2022) for his goal for Jurgen Klopp’s side against Southampton at Anfield in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The former Arsenal star and Sky Sports pundit was impressed by Firmino’s headed goal for Liverpool in the first half against Southampton.
The Brazil international forward put the Reds in the lead in the sixth minute.
It was Andy Robertson who provided the assist.
The Scotland international left-back floated in a great free, and Firmino flicked it home.
And Merson was impressed.

In our view, Roberto Firmino’s goal and performance in the first half of Liverpool’s Premier League match against Southampton was very impressive.
The Brazil international forward has been left out of the Brazil squad for the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar.
That must hurt.
However, Firmino seems to have bounced back perfectly with his goal against Southampton in the first half.
The Brazilian star remains one of the best and most important players for Liverpool, who need him to bang in the goals in their quest to finish in the top four of the Premier League and win the UEFA Champions League.
