Jose Enrique has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to a report that Liverpool will have forward Cody Gakpo available for the match against Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium next month.

Liverpool will take on defending Premier League champions Manchester City after the international break.

The Premier League game will be held at the Etihad Stadium and is scheduled to kick off at 12:30pm UK time on April 1.

Gakpo had to withdraw from the Netherlands squad for their matches during the ongoing international break due to a virus.

According to Football Insider, the £120,000-a-week Netherlands international forward (Football Insider) will recover in time for Liverpool’s match against Manchester City.

“His removal from the Dutch squad has been described as precautionary, with Netherlands boss Ronald Koeman keen to stop any illness spreading further among his players,” states the report.

And former Liverpool star and pundit Enrique is delighted to hear the news about Gakpo.

The 23-year-old joined Liverpool in the January transfer window.

The forward has scored four goals in eight Premier League matches for Jurgen Klopp’s since his transfer.

Liverpool are sixth in the Premier League table at the moment with 42 points from 26 matches, seven points behind fourth-placed Tottenham Hotspur, who have played 28 games.
