Speaking on the Talking Transfers Podcast, Graeme Bailey has been discussing Everton’s transfer plans, and he says that the Toffees are keen on El Bilal Toure.
The Reims attacker had something of a breakthrough season last year in Ligue 1, starting 15 games for his club despite being just 20 years old.
Two goals and four assists in 21 league appearances has seemingly been enough to catch Everton’s eye, and according to Bailey, he’s a player the Toffees are very keen on.
The journalist gave an interesting description of Toure, stating that he’s a young prospect who is actually very similar to Richarlison.
What’s been said?
Bailey spoke about Toure and Everton’s interest.
“We have information about one of the possible replacements for Richarlison, it’s another Stade Reims star, but it’s not Hugo Ekitike. El Bilal Toure is a player of great interest for Everton,” Bailey said.
“He’s a Malian international, plays up front on the left, he’s very similar to Richarlison. He’s attracted a lot of attention in recent months, Newcastle looked at him late last year, so yeah, we believe he could be available for around £20m and he’s a young prospect.”

Readymade replacement
Richarlison has just departed for Tottenham, but it seems as though Everton will soon have a readymade replacement in their ranks.
Indeed, according to Bailey, Toure is a very similar player to the Brazilian, so the gap left behind by Spurs’ newest signing could be filled quite promptly.
Of course, at £20m this will be quite an expensive deal at a time where Everton aren’t flush with cash, but at the age of just 20, Toure has the potential to be worth a lot more than that in a few years’ time.
