Michael Owen has praised Arsenal attacking midfielder Martin Odegaard on PremierLeague.com for his performance against Southampton.

Odegaard played as the number 10 for Arsenal in the 3-0 win against Southampton at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Saturday.

The Norway international attacking midfielder scored in the 27th minute.

The former Real Madrid player also took three shots, played two key passes, and had a pass accuracy of 72.4% in the match.

Former Liverpool striker Owen was following the match, and he was impressed by the display produced by Odegaard.

Owen said about Odegaard on PremierLeague.com: “Arsenal needed a type of player like Odegaard, and three goals in three is great from him. They looked in control that first half and deserved the two goals.”

Encouraging from Martin Odegaard

Odegaard played well for Arsenal against Southampton, and the Gunners fans will now hope that they kick on from now.

The attacking midfielder, who earns £79,000 per week (Salary Sport), has not always been great this season.

But Odegaard is starting to come into his own and is scoring goals.

That bodes well for Arsenal in their quest to finish in the Premier League top four.

Now, we did expect Arsenal to win against Southampton, but we have to praise the performance of Mikel Arteta’s players.
