Real Madrid supporters have reacted on Twitter after hearing Jurgen Klopp’s comments about Toni Kroos and Vinicius Junior, as posted on the Liverpool Echo.
Both players were a thorn in Liverpool’s side last week, as the La Liga giants recorded a 3-1 first-leg lead against the English champions.
The previously inconsistent, Vinicius, punished an inexperienced Liverpool backline that is still feeling the brunt of not having Virgil van Dijk or Joe Gomez at their disposal.
It’s not just Vinicius’ quick off-the-ball movement that Liverpool need to deal with, but the orchestra in Madrid’s midfield.
Both Kroos and Luka Modric ran the show at their own tune last week, which even forced Klopp to make an early first-half substitution.
Klopp’s heavy metal football may need to be brought back for this second leg showdown, as Liverpool chase a comeback, as he was full of praise for two of their players ahead of tonight’s game.
“Kroos is of the biggest talents in Germany for a long time,” said Klopp. “A great player since early.
“Signed for Bayern, played incredible stuff then made a brave move to RM and become one of the most successful footballers in the world. Plus he’s not really old. A lot to come.
On Vinicius: “An outstanding talent, everybody knew it before. We have to avoid the passes in his direction which is a big task. Impressed yes, surprised not.”
Real Madrid supporters are pretty appreciative of Klopp for his comments, but that’s where the German will stop.
He has to ask his Liverpool players to be more aggressive and on the front foot tonight because if they don’t then they can wave goodbye to number seven.
