Speaking on the Gold and Guest Talk Tottenham Podcast, Rob Guest has shared some new information on Tottenham’s signing of Arnaut Danjuma.
Spurs signed Danjuma on loan with an option to buy earlier this week, and it was reported in The Times, that their option was worth £27m.
However, Guest is led to believe that this option is worth just £21m, which is a great fee for such a talented player.

Danjuma could cost £21m
Guest shared what he knows about this deal.
“A deal wasn’t completed with Everton and that allowed Tottenham to nip in. Tottenham now have a new January signing in Arnaut Danjuma. On loan with an option to buy, we understand that is €24m around that figure, which equates to just over £21m,” Guest said.
“If he’s a success then that’s a great fee really. I imagine the loan fee too is nominal,” Gold added.
Great price
The news that Tottenham’s option to buy the player is £21m, rather than the £27m reported in The Times, is likely to be seen as a positive for the club.
This lower fee would give Spurs more financial flexibility in the summer transfer window, allowing them to strengthen other areas of their squad.
Tottenham are currently struggling in the Premier League and are in need of a spark to get their season back on track. Danjuma’s excellent form in the Champions League ast season, as well as his performances for the Netherlands national team, make him a valuable addition to the squad.
It’s worth noting that the £21m option to buy is a great deal for Tottenham considering the current market. With most top level players of Danjuma’s age costing an arm and a leg, getting a player of Danjuma’s calibre for that price could be a steal.
In addition, Danjuma’s versatility will be useful for Antonio Conte’s side. He can play on both wings and as a forward, which will give the coach more options in attack.
