Joelinton has been speaking to iNews about his resurgence at Newcastle, where he had some kind words to say about Eddie Howe.
What’s the story?
Well, the Brazilian sounds extremely grateful to the 44-year-old for reviving his career at Newcastle.
Before Howe arrived, Joelinton was struggling to make an impact at centre-forward under Steve Bruce.
The £40m signing from Hoffenheim scored just ten goals in 89 appearances under Bruce, but now, he has been transformed on Tyneside in a box-to-box midfield role.
Speaking to iNews, Joelinton said: “The gaffer is a great man, he is a leader, a great character and he has shown so much faith in me. We have a good relationship. The intensity, the passion he brings to job – it’s what we want.”
It’s great to see the 25-year-old express his love for Howe, and it’s clear that the pair have a very strong relationship on Tyneside.
Joelinton has now played 15 games under the ex-Bournemouth manager, and he looks twice as good as he did in a striking role.
Joelinton deserves credit for Newcastle revival

In our view, Joelinton deserves a huge amount of credit for knuckling down and adapting to his new position under Howe.
Too many players in modern football have egos, and some may have thought: “I’m a £40m striker, there’s no way I’m playing in midfield.”
However, the South American has listened to his manager’s instructions, and is now bossing the midfield on a weekly basis for the Magpies.
Joelinton’s application to the task has been mightily impressive, and the rewards are there for all to see.

It also says a lot about Bruce. The ex-Sunderland boss could see Joelinton was struggling, but continued to play him up top most weeks.
Clearly, the 61-year-old does not have the vision of Howe, who realised that Joelinton would be much better off in midfield.
It was a bold decision from the £62,500-a-week Newcastle boss, but it has certainly paid off.
