‘Great but announce Howe’: Some Celtic fans react to news coming out of Lennoxtown

Everytime Celtic post a tweet, the fans’ ears perk up.

The Hoops’ faithful are eagerly awaiting news about their next manager after Neil Lennon quit as head coach last week.

John Kennedy is taking charge of the first team on an interim basis and although he’ll be in the frame to be Lennon’s long-term successor if all goes well, he might be an underwhelming appointment by virtue of what sort of names are being linked.

So when Celtic have an announcement about a contract of any description, there’s a moment when the Bhoys supporters’ heart skips a beat.

On this occasion though, it’s about Connor Hazard signing a new deal.

The reigning Premiership champions revealed on Twitter this afternoon that the Irish goalkeeper had committed his future to the Glasgow club until 2023.

Hazard broke into Lennon’s senior squad this season and made his competitive debut in a Europa League win over Lille in December, before making five league appearances afterwards.
