Matthew Upson has claimed that Pedro Neto would be a ‘great addition’ to Arsenal if they secure his possible transfer from Wolves amid rumours of Nicolas Pepe leaving, as he told the Football Show on Sky Sports.
It seems as though the end is near for Pepe at Arsenal and the club’s record-breaking transfer signing is finally heading for the exit door after an ill-fated spell in the Premier League.
The 27-year-old has seemingly taken a wage cut in order to join French side Nice and if that deal does go through, then will Mikel Arteta’s side dip into the market for another forward?

Bukayo Saka is Arsenal’s undisputed winger on the right, but he needs competition in that area and it could come in the form of Wolves’ tricky forward, Neto.
Former Gunners centre-back Upson was talking about what transfer business the north London club can conclude before next week’s deadline, as he shared that he is a ‘big fan’ of Neto.
“Possibly (Arsenal to spend more),” said Upson. “I think for them it’s more about tidying up the squad. Whether or not it would be Pepe going out possibly.
“If that might happen, then I know there is interest in Neto from Wolves. I am a big fan of Neto’s. I think he would be a great addition to the squad.
“It’s more about tidying up the squad. I am pretty sure Mikel Arteta is quite happy with what he has to work with until January and there might be maybe one or two, if they slot into the space.”

NETO AN UPGRADE ON PEPE
Neto has just returned from a long-term injury, but at 22-years-old he is one of the top talents from Portugal and a player worth taking a punt on, even for big bucks.
If he arrives, then it would be in place of Pepe and that would be an upgrade given the latter’s struggle in English football over the years.
Plus, Neto’s signing would bolster Arteta’s squad even further, especially given that they have returned to Europe this season and their schedule will be jam-packed.
A player of exceptional balance and the ability to drive past players with his box of tricks and outstanding dribbling ability, Neto is a player for the future and someone Arteta can take to the next level like he is doing with Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli.
